AOL has launched a new version of its instant messenger application called AIM Express. The new service is a flash-based web version of the AOL Instant Messenger many are already familiar with. The new service allows users to chat without needing to install software.
Features include Tabbed IM conversations, status message, text message mode, buddy rollover, and cross browser compatibility with Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer. AOL also announced the availability of AIM for Windows Mobile.
"AIM Express raises the bar with its streamlined design and lightweight messaging experience," said David Liu, Senior Vice President, AOL People Networks. "It's now even easier for AIM users, especially those on-the-go, to connect with friends whether at home, at a coffee shop, the library, or wherever they have Web access."
